Our Made in the USA Story
Ernst Manufacturing was founded in 1981 by Greg Ernst, who was an energetic inventor and hobbyist. Initially, the company specialized in designing accessories for model trains and airplanes. However, Greg quickly shifted his focus towards developing tool organization products for professional and home mechanics. Being an enthusiastic mechanic himself and owning a large tool collection, he realized the importance of staying organized and thus, began developing tool organization products that were of high quality, easy to use, and practical. One of his most successful product lines was the 'Gripper' Wrench Organizers, made from an advanced "soft" plastic that was solvent and chemical-resistant, making it ideal for storing and transporting wrenches.
The second generation of Greg's family have been working in the business for many years and have become partners. They have helped to expand the product offering and sales efforts and each of them has been an invaluable member of the team. The company has recently developed some new products, such as the Wrench Pro and Plier Pro. These items are designed to maximize space in toolbox drawers by holding tools upright and providing compact and easy-to-see storage. The Wrench Pro is becoming a favorite among customers due to its modular capabilities.
Ernst Manufacturing offers a complete range of products for tool organization. The company takes pride in being the leader in this field and aims to provide the broadest range of options in terms of styles, colors, and sizes to cater to the different needs of tool users. Apart from the wrench organizers, they also offer the Socket Boss line, which provides a versatile and efficient way to store and transport sockets, ratchets, and extensions. Tray Organizers are another essential item that can fit and sort countless varieties of tools and supplies, making them a must-have for anyone in any workspace.
